Freshman
Austin Ferrin put on a show in the men's one-mile run at the Fastrack National Invite at Staten Island's Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday.
The Auburn, NY native darted into the Siena Track record books with the all-time best Siena freshman performance and fourth fastest in program history.
Among 92 competitors, his time was sixth overall at 4:08.78, only being surpassed by three runners who ran a sub four-minute time in Empire Elite TC members Ben Allen (3:53.40) and Eric Holt (3:53.70), Seth Clevenger of Rowan (3:59.41) as well as Mikah Paiz, who ran unattached, and finished in 4:06:03 and Dylan Tarpey of CPTC-Tracksmith who also ran in 4:08.78.
Teammate and graduate student
Jackson Cayward had a strong pace with a time of 4:21.47 in the same event to place 14
th overall while
Evan Wattie was 20
th with a time of 4:23.75.
Marcus Homa (4:31.50),
Jake Gogarty (4:33.75), and
Connor Thomas (4:36.47) also competed for the Saints.
In the women's one-mile event, senior
Mattingly O'Rourke had a solid run of 5:05.24, beating her previous best of 5:05.58 that she ran in last year's John Thomas Terrier Classic. O'Rourke's time placed her 17
th overall among a field of 98 competitors. Also finishing for the Saints in the Top-50 were
Julianna Tourangeau (5:18.24) and
Summer Reinoehl (5:24.86).
In the men's 800-meter, senior
Tyler Greene ran a 1:53.37 for sixth overall, besting his previous fastest time of 1:54.50 at the Bison Outdoor Classic in April of 2023.
Luke Tkaczyk, who ran unattached, finished in 1:54.76. His brother
Tyler Tkaczyk ran it in 1:56.39 for 19
th while
Ralston Frattarola closed in 2:00.28 while
PJ Dauer clocked in 2:01.60.
In the men's 3,000-meter invitational, junior
Colin Brunelle pushed forward with a time of 8:23.19 for fifth overall.
The time was better than five seconds off his previous best at the 2025 Fastrack National Invite, nearly one year to the day.
Jake Passalugo ran the men's 5,000-meter Invitational in 15:09.86, good enough to place him sixth.
Brody Santagata was 13
th with a time of 15:34.17 and
Michael Ryan placed 19
th with a time of 15:51.79.
In the men's 5,000-meter college run,
Ean Piaschyk finished in 16:22.97 for 14
th overall.
Max Decker clocked in at 8:53.57 in the men's 3,000-meter college run for a ninth-place finish.
On the women's side of the 3,000-meter college run,
Marissa Navarra crossed the line in 11:04.70 followed by
Olivia Schaffer (11:27.48) and
Olivia Armenia (11:51.62).

Siena will be back in competition next week on Friday, February 13 in the Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass. at the Track & Tennis Center with the first event of the day beginning at 9 a.m.
