Siena Basketball Adds Justice Shoats

McNamara Announces Eighth Signing

LOUDONVILLE, NY – New Siena Men's Basketball Head Coach Gerry McNamara has announced the eighth official addition to his first Siena roster. Justice Shoats, a two-sport standout at Division II Lock Haven University, has committed to the Saints.

"Justice is coming off of a terrific season at Lock Haven," said McNamara. "His ability to touch the paint with downhill drives, and how he guards the ball defensively, is high-level. Justice is so difficult to contain with the ball in his hands, and his ability to attack to score and make plays for us is a big addition. I'm really excited about what he brings as both a talent and as a competitor!"

A 5-11, 175-pound guard, Shoats matriculates to Siena College as a rising junior with two years of eligibility remaining. The Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania product arrives in Loudonville after starring for the past two seasons at Division II Lock Haven, where he averaged 15.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.3 steals while shooting 49% from the field for the Bald Eagles.

Shoats recently wrapped up a sensational sophomore season at Lock Haven, where he earned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Player of the Year honors, in addition to earning Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Atlantic Region and National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District First Team acclaim. A five-time PSAC East Athlete of the Week – twice on offense and three times on defense – he averaged 20.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 2.1 steals while leading the Bald Eagles to the PSAC East Regular Season Championship. Shoats scored in double figures in each of his final 28 games, highlighted by 16 20-plus point performances.

A two-sport standout at Lock Haven, Shoats also starred in sprints, high jump, and long jump for the men's track & field program where he earned All-Conference honors this spring after placing second in the long jump and third in the high jump at the PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Shoats was a 2023 U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association All-Atlantic Region honoree in both the long and high jump, and won the 2023 PSAC Championship in the long jump.

Shoats earned Pennsylvania Sports Writers Class 3A All-State Second Team honors while starring at Holy Redeemer, where he was a three-time Times Leader All-WVC and two-time Player of the Year honoree.
