Siena Athletics Hall of Fame
Captain of the 1952-53 quintet. Considered one of the finest playmakers in Siena history, he was hailed as the “master of the assist”. In his junior year, Hogan helped propel the Indians to a 24- 7 record and the championship of the National Catholic Invitation Tournament. the following year he averaged 14.5 points, playing most of the time with a broken finger encased in a splint. Became the sixth player in Siena history to score of 300 points in a season while scoring 21 points in a win over Canisius during his senior season. Hogan also tied Howie Tucker’s 14.5 scoring average while playing against some of the top teams in the country that year. His 30 points against Xavier also established a single-game scoring record, with Hogan adding 14 rebounds and shooting 10-12 from the field.
He was selected by the Fort Wayne Pistons in the 7th round (56th pick) of the 1953 NBA Draft. Hogan died on April 30, 2017.
