Curry was known for being a role player, a good rebounder, and a decent scorer. Following his transfer to Siena from Long Island University in 1951, scored 570 points in 56 games over three seasons under legendary Siena coach Dan Cunha. He averaged 7.5 points per game during the 1951-52 season, 10.8 points as a junior, and 10.5 points as a senior.  As captain in 1954, he scored a career high of 23 points against a tough Louisville team that would be nationally-ranked later that year.

Following graduation and two years of military service, the Long Island native coached the boys varsity basketball team for St. Mary’s Academy in Hudson, NY, for 14 seasons.  His record was 178 wins and 94 losses, including seven league or sectional championships. Curry died on March 29, 2021, at the age of 89.
