The first Siena gridder to receive induction into the Hall of Fame, Grasso shined as one of the early stars of the infant club squad, earning First Team All-American club football honors in 1968 & 1971 and Second Team accolades in 1969 & 1972. He graduated with 10 single game and 11 career records, and still holds career marks for rushing touchdowns (38), yards per-carry (6.1) and points scored (290). He also holds single-season records for yards per-carry (6.3), touchdowns (15) and points (111). He also played one season of baseball at Siena. Following graduation, Grasso embarked on a legendary coaching career, serving as the head coach at Bishop Manginn High School for the entirety of its varsity existence from 1977-2015. He was just one of four area coached to win 200 varsity games, finishing with a 204-169-6 record. Following a pair of Section II titles and seven Sectional Championship Game appearances, he was inducted into the Capital Region Football Hall of Fame as part of its inaugural class in 2010. He died at the age of 66 on September 25, 2016.
