Siena University Athletics

A varsity star from 1972-75, Cahill used his intelligence and great ball handling skills at the point guard position. Those abilities led Cahill to graduate as the program’s all-time time assist leader, averaging 5.5 per game for a total of 372 in just 72 contests. During his three seasons, Cahill averaged 8.4 points, while helping Siena to a 49-26 record. Following graduation, Cahill worked as an NCAA Division I Basketball referee and received the MAAC Dedicated Officials' Award in 1999. He also served on the Siena College Board of Trustees and was Chair of the Athletic committee. He was selected to the MAAC Hall of Fame Honor Roll as part of its inaugural class in 2012.
