Siena's "Mr. Excitement" of the late 1950's, Weaver played varsity basketball from 1956-59, averaging 17.1 points-per-game. He established the freshman scoring average record with 19.6 points-per-game during the 1955-56 season, then progressed as a varsity player with 9.0 as a sophomore and 10.5 as a junior. In only 19 games, Weaver scored a team-high 325 points for an average of 18.0 points-per-contest during his senior season, including a then program record for the most points in a single game with 38 against Saint Francis College of Brooklyn.  All of this was accomplished despite Weaver only standing 5’8”. He was also a member of Siena's baseball team. Weaver was inducted into the Upstate New York Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012. 

Following graduation from Siena, Jack entered the field of education. He taught and coached at his alma mater - La Salle Institute - in 1961.In 1962, he was appointed the head football, basketball, baseball coach and taught Civics at Cardinal McCloskey HS in Albany. In 1968, he was appointed the Asst Principal of the school. In 1974, he left Cardinal McCloskey HS after 12 years to become the Principal at Watervliet Junior-Senior HS for 20 years, and spent five years as the Assistant Superintendent. He retired in 1999 after 25 years in the Watervliet School District and a total of 38 years in education. Jack and his late wife Anne raised four children: Anne (Russell Sage class of 1983), Jack (Siena class of 1985), Cathy (Siena class of 1988), and Tony (Siena class of 1994). They have 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Jack currently resides in Eagle Mills, New York, just outside Troy.
