Sturgis (1979-83) was a dominant low-post presence on both ends of the floor, and one of the premier players during Siena’s pre-Division I era. She has held Siena’s all-time record for blocked shots (139) for nearly 40 years, and also holds the program’s record for blocks per-game (1.2). Sturgis scored 1,294 points in her career and is one of four players in program history to have registered seven blocks in a game, tying a program record. Her contributions led Siena to 84 wins in her four seasons, including three  New York State Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (NYSAIAW) Division II Tournament Appearances, the 1982 Championship title, and a trio of EAIAW Tournament Appearances.
