Siena University Athletics

A prolific scorer who starred just before Siena’s Division I transition (1972-76), Walters graduated second on Siena’s all-time leading scorer list with 1,346 career points, and also held records for most field goals attempted (1,236) and most field goals made (582) at the time. He logged three 35-point performances during his career, and also totaled 543 rebounds, leading the Indians in boards during the 1973-74 campaign. Walters followed in the footsteps of two-time Associated Press All-American Honorable Mention recipient Fred Shear ’73, HOF ’78 by also earning the recognition twice, in 1974 & 1975.
