Steve O'Shea compiled a prolific scoring career at Siena from 1976-79 as one third of arguably the greatest trio to don the Green and Gold (Tony Asterino & Tom Baldwin). A captain of the team during the team's historic undefeated season in 1979, he became the first player in program history to collect 100 career points, finishing with 199 points, including 115 goals and 84 assists. The team leader in goals and assists during his senior year, he set single-season records in goals, assists, and points before being passed by Asterino.

O'Shea went on to serve as an assistant coach with the program from 1984-87 before spending seven seasons as the head coach at UAlbany from 1988-94. He led the Great Danes to a pair of ECAC Division III Tournament berths and left as the all-time leader in wins (45), currently ranking second. O'Shea has since coached at the Albany Academy for boys since 2002.
