Siena University Athletics

One of the “founding fathers” of Siena Basketball, and was a celebrity in his own right before coming to Siena. He was a member of the Vincentian Institute “Wonder Five”, which was coached by fellow Siena Hall of Famer Dan Cunha. Rehfuss played center despite being only 6’3” and played on teams the compiled a record of 39-24. He was also a member of one of Siena's earliest golf teams. Rehfuss went on to pursue a prestigious law career in Albany and served as president of the Albany County Bar Association. He had nine children, several of whom attended Siena. His granddaughter, Abigail Rehfuss, is the current head coach of Siena’s women’s lacrosse program. He died on March 5, 2007 at the age of 86.
