Siena Athletics Hall of Fame
A guard from 1980-84, Harkins graduated as Siena's career assist leader and was 10th on the College's all-time scoring list. In four years she totaled 1,106 points and accumulated 451 assists, leading the team in scoring during the 1983-84 season. Harkins played in 114 career games, which was tied for the program record at the time, and also recorded steals to sit inside the program top-10. As a sophomore, she was a contributing factor in the Indians team that won the 1982 New York State Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (NYSAIAW) Division II championship. In 1984, she was named First Team Academic All-America for her success in the classroom and was also a First Team selection by the American Women’s Foundation. Harkins went on to serve as an assistant coach for the women’s basketball program. She was inducted into the Upstate New York Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.
