A goalkeeper for some of Siena Lacrosse’s finest squads, Hutchinson graduated as and remains the program’s all-time saves leader with 852. As a freshman in 1980, he led his team to a 9-2 record and finished second among Division I goalies with a .699 save percentage. The four-year starter continued his stalwart net play for the final three years of his career, finishing second, first and fourth respectively among the nation's lacrosse goalies. Despite tallying an 11-1 record and setting a school-record for saves with 221 in his sophomore season, it was Hutchinson's junior campaign that boosted him to national prominence, posting a 9-1 record and a nation-best .748 save percentage. He compiled a 35-9 career record in four years for the Green and Gold, placing him second all-time in wins to this day. Hutchinson remains inside the NCAA Division I all-time top-10 in career saves, and also complied 240 groundballs in-between the pipes.
