Wilders enjoyed a stellar career for the Siena baseball team from 1993-96, helping the program achieve regional success and national notoriety. A four-year starter, he captained Siena to its first-ever MAAC Championship in 1995 and helped the team repeat the feat during his senior season. As a junior, Wilders ranked 21st nationally with a .415 batting average, while establishing program single-season marks for doubles, RBI, and walks. Following that season, he competed as a New York State All-Star at Yankee Stadium, and went on to perform for Team USA’s junior team in Australia that summer. The 1995 Saints amassed 31 victories, the second most in school history at the time. Siena played in the NCAA Play-in round in each of Wilders’ final two seasons. A member of Siena’s 100-hit club (157), the third basemen went on to be selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 33rd round of the 1996 MLB Draft, and spent one season in their organization.
