Siena Athletics Hall of Fame
A four-year starter for the Siena baseball program from 1976-80, Bladel was known as an excellent offensive and defensive performer. He played second base his first two years at Siena and then moved to his natural position, first base, his junior and senior seasons. During the 1979 season he was ranked 25th in in batting average in the Final ECAC Division I Spring rankings, putting forth a .398 mark. A member of the program’s “100-Hit Club” with 115 total knocks, he graduated with a .353 career batting average and held the program career RBI record at the time of graduation.
