A first-ballot selection, Paolini took home All-American honors in each of his three seasons in Loudonville from 2009-11, earning College Baseball Insider Honorable Mention and ABCA Third Team All-America honors in 2011 and Collegiate Baseball Second Team honors in 2010. The Stratford, Connecticut product was a 2011 ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-Northeast Region selection, a two-time MAAC Player of the Year (2010 & 2011), the 2009 MAAC Rookie of the Year and ECAC Rookie the Year, as well as a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American selection. A three-time All-MAAC selection with First Team nods in 2010 and 2011, Paolini remains the MAAC's home run king with 56 career long balls and 26 during the 2010 season. He is also the program leader in career batting average (.380) and also still holds the single-season records for hits (86 in 2009), runs (62 in 2010), RBI's (67 in 2011), and total bases (137 in 2010), as well as still ranking third in MAAC history in average and seventh in RBI's. He also holds Siena freshman records for hits, home runs, RBI’s, total bases, and extra base hits.

Paolini was drafted in the tenth round of the 2011 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners and played six seasons of professional ball, reaching as high as AAA in 2015.
