After serving in World War II and a stint with the semi-professional St. Albans Giants of the Northern League, Bogdanowicz became Siena’s first star in baseball, appearing on the team’s first two squads. He was the top pitcher on Siena’s infant teams and helped bring relevance to the sport at Siena. Bogdanowicz compiled an 11-5 win-loss record in three years, including a 3-0 record his senior year. The righthanded hurler averaged eight strikeouts and two walks per-game and once pitched 14 innings in 1948 against Arnold College, allowing just four hits in Siena's 3-2 win. He died on February 16, 2016 at the age of 90.
