Siena Athletics Hall of Fame
Smith played three seasons at Siena before being drafted by the New York Mets following his junior year. The outfielder/catcher batted .369 over his career, with a season high of .418 as a freshman, and became the first Siena player to accumulate 100 hits. Through his career, Smith hit 10 home runs and drove in 66 runs. He holds a share of the record for most hits in a game, 5, and ended his Siena career with a 15- game hitting streak, the second longest in the college's history. He played one season with the Mets Class A affiliate in Little Falls, NY, where he batted .300. He was inducted into the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame in 2012. An employee of Siena College for nearly 40 years, Smith currently serves as the Vice President for Development and External Affairs.
