The former all-time leading scorer in Siena history, Eric Banks amassed 1,432 points in a four-year career spanning 110 games. He averaged 6.2 points per game as freshman then exploded for 461 points (16.5 points per game) in 1983-84 to lead Siena in scoring. On January 7, 1984, he scored a career-high 34 points in a 74-73 win over St. Francis (NY). He led the team that produced the school's first 20-win season at Division I in scoring for the second time in three years with 15.7 points per game in 1985-86. During the final three years of his career, Banks did not miss a game and made 86 consecutive starts.

In 1984, Banks was an honorable mention All-East selection by Basketball Weekly and in 1986 was named to the All-North Atlantic Conference second team. He currently ranks third on Siena's all-time scoring list while occupying the 18th and 19th spots on the single-season scoring list. His scoring exploits are even more impressive considering he played prior to the advent of the three-point field goal in 1986-87. He died on October 7, 2017.
