A program pioneer, Witt was a member of the first four Siena golf squads, helping them to stellar performances in each season. Accompanied by fellow hall of famer Billy Shields for his first two years as a linksman, the pair helped coach Leo Callahan evolve the program from infancy and gain notoriety around the region. He died on November 5, 2012 at the age of 85.
