Siena Athletics Hall of Fame
Coming to Siena as a local product from Schenectady, Alesio played baseball from 1986-89 and still ranks fifth all-time with a .357 batting average. He was named a 1988 New York State All-Star following his junior season in which he led the team in hitting (.395) while slugging .790 (third best single-season mark in program history) and tied for the team lead with 27 RBI despite playing in just 23 games. A two-time ECAC Division I All-Star, Alesio finished his career as part of the team’s 100-hit club (149) and belted nine triples. He signed with the St. Louis Cardinals following graduation and spend one season in professional baseball (1990) with the Hamilton Redbirds of the New York-Penn League.
