Siena Athletics Hall of Fame
During the 1950-51 season playing mainly on the junior varsity team, Bissell scored 11 points in 12 varsity games. The following year, Bissell boosted his scoring average to 12.4 points per game, which was good enough for second on the team. The team finished the season with a 24-6 record, while he scored 383 points his senior year. He also played on Siena's baseball team. Bissell entered the U.S. Marine Corps upon graduation and led them into the Inter Service Basketball Championship in 1954. He later spent 27 years as a basketball coach, referee and baseball umpire at the high school level. He died on February 3, 2016 at the age of 86.
